Visa Fiasco Pt. 2

Somehow Travisa decided to ship my passport and visa to Richard's house in Colorado with no instruction from us to do so.  At 6:00PM (MST) on Saturday Richard's little brother had to hop on a plane from Denver to Portland to deliver my passport.  Michael saved our trip!  Thanks Michael.

Hopefully Travisa will make up for their mistake with us.  If Michael had not been available to fly out to Portland it would have cost well over $800 to have FedEx deliver the passport to Portland at 4am Sunday morning.  If that had failed and I missed my flight to Japan as a result, it would have cost another $2,000 or so to book another plane to Japan.

But everything worked out.  $550 for a round trip ticket from Denver to Portland.  I got my passport and visa in time and Richard's brother got a free vacation out of it.

We're in Tokyo now.  We'll get some video up of our flight, etc. soon.

  1. Are you guys going to fix up the car or buy any parts for it in japan?

  2. Hey Ron,
We are not going to be fixing the car in Japan because we are shipping it straight to Vlad. However, we are looking to hit some subaru tuner shops and find some cool rare parts. Any ideas?

  3. i was just thinking since your in Japan..if there are any parts that you can find specific for the sf model forester i would go for it. there are some exhausts, bodykit parts, suspension that are specific to that model...helps if you ever want to think about keeping it or parting it out..i mean since your already over there...at the least i would get a nice set of stainless steel brake lines, brake pads, and a good oil change..
